Johanna Gonzalez is a seasoned professional with over 11 years of experience in the language services industry. As the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of TLC Interpreting & Translation Services, Inc, Johanna plays a pivotal role in maintaining relationships with organizations and corporations as well as overseeing sales and marketing efforts. Prior to founding TLC, Johanna worked as an independent contractor, providing interpretation services as a Certified Court and Medical Interpreter at various events including depositions, trials, city council meetings, medical appointments, and community gatherings. She also excelled as an Education Interpreter and Translator at the Pasadena Unified School District, where she facilitated communication between English and Spanish speakers at parent-teacher meetings, Individual Educational Plan (IEP) meetings, and school board meetings. Johanna holds a Bachelor of Science in International Studies and Spanish from California State University of Long Beach, where she specialized in interpreting and translation. She also completed courses in Criminal Court Proceedings at the Southern California School of Interpretation and participated in a Study Abroad Semester at the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Margarita de la Torre is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of expertise in the language services industry. As the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of TLC Interpreting & Translation Services, Inc, Margarita plays a key role in strategic planning and implementation for interpreting and translation services. Her focus is on fostering transparent and professional communication across various sectors, including public, private, and non-profit entities. In her role at TLC, Margarita is the lead at human resources and operations, ensuring the seamless coordination and scheduling of interpreters and translators for TLC partners. Prior to founding TLC, Margarita became a California Certified Court Interpreter, provided interpretation in various settings in addition to legal, such as medical, educational, and conference settings. She was also a Spanish Instructor at the USC Keck School of Medicine, where she developed lesson plans and taught conversational Spanish with a focus on medicine to Physician Assistant students. Margarita’s extensive background also includes development of the interpreting department at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and as well as conducting training seminars on healthcare interpreting standards and language access.
