Margarita de la Torre is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of expertise in the language services industry. As the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of TLC Interpreting & Translation Services, Inc, Margarita plays a key role in strategic planning and implementation for interpreting and translation services. Her focus is on fostering transparent and professional communication across various sectors, including public, private, and non-profit entities. In her role at TLC, Margarita is the lead at human resources and operations, ensuring the seamless coordination and scheduling of interpreters and translators for TLC partners.

Prior to founding TLC, Margarita became a California Certified Court Interpreter, provided interpretation in various settings in addition to legal, such as medical, educational, and conference settings. She was also a Spanish Instructor at the USC Keck School of Medicine, where she developed lesson plans and taught conversational Spanish with a focus on medicine to Physician Assistant students.

Margarita’s extensive background also includes development of the interpreting department at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and as well as conducting training seminars on healthcare interpreting standards and language access. Through her leadership, expertise, and dedication to fostering effective communication, Margarita de la Torre continues to make a significant impact in the language services industry.

Margarita holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration and Translation & Interpretation Studies from California State University, Long Beach. She also enjoyed participating in a Study Abroad Program at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy where she had the opportunity to travel throughout the country to learn about the culture and food as well as throughout some of the other beautiful surrounding countries.

Outside of work, Margarita enjoys gardening with her husband and twin toddlers, spending time with her mom, siblings, and their families. Hobbies include reading, swimming, barre workouts, and traveling. Margarita has traveled throughout the Americas and Europe and dreams of traveling throughout Asia and Africa with her family. Fun fact, Margarita took up surfing in college through a fun surfing class that was offered and has run a handful of half marathons in the past and plans to do this again soon!
